Process to Make Clear Wedding Invitations and Boxes
I’m going to show you how to add design to a candy box template. If you would like to make this candy box, I invite you to download the FREE template HERE. Once downloaded, insert it into the Cricut Design Space canvas. Select the template and press ungroup. Remove the watermark, select the lines, go to operations and change from basic cut to score. You will now have the scoring lines ready. You can cut it like this on transparent film or you can add a design if you want.
How to add Design to the Templates

If you want to add design, go to operations and change it to white. Use white whenever you are going to print on transparent sheets. Insert the images you want to put on the template to the canvas.

Now you can start inserting the images into the template. It can be any image, photos, flowers and text too. All according to the occasion. The purple flowers design and fonts I’m using for this template are from Creative Fabrica. Click here to download the flowers and HERE to download the font called Adorable.

FLATTEN BEFORE PRINTING AND CUT
Once you’ve added the design and text, select the scoring lines and set them to the side or hide them clicking on the eye on the layer’s column on the right-hand side. Then select the template with the entire design and press flatten.

Put the fold lines back, select all and press attach. Now make sure that the template measures the same or less than the measurements allowed by Cricut Design Space because remember that the largest measurements that can be printed and cut with Cricut are 6.75 by 9.25″ for a letter size sheet and 6.51 by 9.93″ for a A4 size sheet. It is ready to be printed and cut.

Clear Wedding Invitations
To make an invitation card, simply insert a square from the shapes, press the lock to open it, and adjust to the desired size. For example, this one measure 4 by 5.5″. Then insert your desired design according to the occasion. The watercolor flower image I’m using for this invitation is from Creative Market. After adding design, add text with details and information. Once you have added all the details, select all and press flatten.
The invitation is also ready to be printed and cut onto printable acetate sheets. As this invitation is of medium size, two can be printed on a single letter size sheet. You simply duplicate it, put them parallel to each other, select them and press attach.

Print the Design
I will proceed to do the printing and cutting. Press make it, send to printer, select the printer you are going to use, press the bleed, press use dialog system and print.
NOTE: If you do not have a printer, instead of selecting the printer, press where it says Microsoft Printing to PDF, save it in a folder on your computer and you can send it to be printed at a company or at a friend’s house and then return to cut it with your Cricut machine.

Select the printer again, press preferences and another window will appear. In settings you will select photo printing, in media type select glossy photo paper, in quality select high. Make sure it is the size you want to print, press ok and print.

To print I am using Uinkit transparency printable film for inkjet [acetate-type] and you can use any color inkjet printer. I use a Canon Pixma Megatank Inkjet Printer. Also, Epson EcoTank printers work to print on these films.
Cutting
After printing, you will take step number two and that is to select the material that you are going to cut. To cut UINKIT acetate type printable transparent sheets, you will select acetate. If you don’t see it in the favorites list, click on search in all materials and search by acetate. If you want to put it in the favorites, press the star so that it turns yellow.

Then to cut it out, align it to the top left corner of the cutting mat. As shown on the Cricut Design Space program screen.
If you are going to cut templates with scoring lines, you will need to load the scoring tool first. You can use the scoring stylus and if you are using your Cricut Explore Air machine and if you are using a Cricut Maker you can use either the scoring stylus or the number one scoring wheel. After making the folds, the machine will prompt you to replace the cutting blade.

Assembling the Candy Box
To assemble this box, you do not need glue but you could place a piece of transparent adhesive tape on the bottom for more stability. I promise you the tape won’t show.

And this is the result of the candy boxes made with UINKIT acetate-type printable transparency film for inkjet printers. They are beautiful! You can customize them for any occasion and fill them with candies, small cookies, chocolates, nuts, etc.

Cards made with this transparent film also look beautiful. You can create unique announcement cards and invitations for all occasions such as weddings, birthdays, communions, quinceañeras, baby showers and more.

You could further embellish the presentation of these announcement or invitation cards by creating custom envelopes with your Cricut machine. Click here if you would like to see the tutorial to learn how to create these envelopes with pockets.
