The first thing I noticed when I took it out of the box is that it has a fairly solid and robust design. I like that it includes two interchangeable plates, since this will allow me to customize caps for both adults and children without problem. Furthermore, it has suction cups on the base to prevent it from moving when pressure is applied.

If you want to know more details about this press, you can find it here: HTVRONT Manual Cap Press.

For this design I used glitter HTV and regular neon vinyl in pink color. I pressed it on a white cotton cap.

Steps:

  1. Place the cap on the press, making sure it is stretched tightly.
  2. Center the design using reference folds.
  3. Set with heat proof adhesive tape.
  4. Place butcher paper on top.
  5. Press to 320°F for 15 seconds to press the glitter ion on layer.
  6. Then place the second layer of iron on and press 315°F for 15 seconds. These parameters work for me but I suggest that you do your own tests depending on the product and material you are going to press.

The result was a vibrant design that was well adhered to the cap. If you are interested in learning how to cut and apply HTV or Iron On, check out my tutorial:

For this technique, I used a white polyester cap and a design printed on sublimation paper.

Steps:

  1. Place the cap in the press. Take the sweat band out of the cap so that it does not interfere with pressing.
  2. Secure the design with heat proof adhesive tape.
  3. Place butcher paper on top.
  4. Press to 350°F for 1 minute.

The result was a design with vibrant colors and high quality. Remember that sublimation only works on polyester fabrics and light colors. If you want to learn how to make sublimation prints, I leave you this tutorial:

This technique allows you to customize any type of fabric regardless of the color. For this design, I used a black cotton cap.

Steps:

  1. Cut out the design and center it on the cap.
  2. Secure with heat proof adhesive tape.
  3. Place butcher paper on top.
  4. Press to 320°F for 30 seconds.
  5. Let cool, remove the transparent film and press again for 10 seconds.

The result was a crisp, high-quality design. If you want to learn more about DTF, check out my tutorial:
