There’s nothing like a beautiful fall decoration to bring warmth to your home 🍁. Today I’m sharing how easy it is to create a layered fall wood sign with my WeCreate Vista laser machine and painted wood sheets from Creatorally.

The best part? I didn’t have to paint a single layer myself — Creatorally sends painted wood sheets ready for cutting and assembly, saving me tons of time while producing stunning results.

What is Creatorally?

Creatorally is a creative materials brand specializing in pre-painted, laser-ready plywood sheets in a wide range of vibrant colors and finishes. Their colored plywood is designed specifically for crafting and laser cutting — double-sided, 3 mm thick, UV coated, and safe for laser use. Because the wood comes already painted, crafters skip the tedious and time-consuming step of painting and sealing, which not only saves time but also helps avoid fumes, drying time, and mess. Whether you prefer glossy or matte finishes, Creatorally offers both, giving you flexibility in style without extra steps.

Why I Love to use the WeCreate Vista for my Laser Projects

For this project, I will use my WeCreat Vista Laser Machine. I like this laser for my projects because it’s compact, powerful, and super easy to use. The design software is very intuitive and beginner-friendly, which makes it simple to import, align, and cut designs without complications. One of my favorite features is the built-in top-view camera, which helps me align my material and design perfectly before cutting. It also has a framing option that lets you preview exactly where the laser will cut — that saves a lot of time and material! Even though it’s small, it delivers clean, detailed, and precise cuts every single time. I especially love how beautifully it works with the painted wood sheets from Creatorally — no burn marks, no mess, just perfect cuts that are ready to assemble.

Step-by-Step Process

1. Preparing the Design

I started by refreshing my workspace screen to see where the material was placed. Then I imported my design into the WeCreat Vista software. I centered the design on the canvas, aligning it with the image of the material.

The painted wood sheets I used are 12 x 12 inches — perfect for layered signs. If the photo of your material doesn’t show up, press “Refresh” in the top-right corner to align the design.

2. Separating Layers and Choosing Materials

My design has several layers, (It is a design in SVG format) so I separated them. I started with the black layer first. I changed the unit measurements to inches for better precision and selected Walnut Wood (3mm) in the material settings. Walnut wood is denser, ensuring clean cuts on painted wood.

3. Cutting Each Layer

Each layer required switching the setting from engraving to cutting. The WeCreat Vista automatically gave me the right parameters for the material. I pressed “Send” and began cutting.

The result was clean, sharp cuts without any burning.

4. Assembling the Sign

I assembled the layers using High Viscosity Instant Adhesive Cyafixed — a product I love for wood and acrylic projects.

I started with the base layer of 12 x 12-inch balsa wood, adding each painted wood layer carefully. I avoided excess glue to keep the edges clean.

For example, the pumpkin layer was painted pink wood with a glossy finish, the text border was matte black, and the flower layer was gold with a semi-matte finish. This combination of colors and textures gave the sign a stunning finish.

The Final Result

Here’s my completed layered fall sign 🍂 — it’s clean, colorful, and full of texture. I decided to add a border to give it more dimension, making it 13 x 13 inches total. This project was quick, satisfying, and entirely doable thanks to Creatorally’s painted wood sheets and the WeCreate Vista laser machine.

I plan to hang it at the entrance of my home for the season — it’s the perfect autumn decoration.
