Preparing the Design with Loklik Idea Studio
Once we have everything ready, it is time to work on the design. We will use the program Local Idea Studio to create the design that we will cut with the machine Loklik. Here I show you how to do it:
- Open a new Canvas: Select the option of File > Upload to load the image you want to use. Make sure the image is in SVG format with a transparent background.
- Adjust design size: Depending on the item you are customizing, adjust the size in the size bar. For example, you can change the measurements to 2.5 inches wide.
- Add custom details: You can add initials or additional elements. To do this, press the T, write the desired letter, and adjust it to the size you prefer.
Cutting and Transferring the Design
Once your design is ready, it’s time to cut it and transfer it to the bags:
- Select the type of material: In the program, choose the type of vinyl you are going to cut, whether it is thermo-adhesive textile vinyl or glitter.
- Set up the machine: Connect your machine Loklik and select the standard cutting mode with the 12-by-12-inch pad. Make sure to place the vinyl with the gloss side down and activate mirror mode if you are using textile vinyl.
- Cutting and waxing: Make the cut and then remove the thermo-adhesive textile vinyl.
Customizing the Bags
With the designs cut, we are going to transfer them to the bags using the HTVRONT Mini Heat Press 3:
- Turn on and adjust temperature: Press the power button, set the desired temperature and time using the green circle and the plus and minus symbols.
- Pressing: Place a piece of white paper on top of the design before pressing. Press at 330°F for 30 seconds. This mini press is ideal for small projects, although you can also use it for larger designs.
