How to Cut Faux Leather with Cricut :
Working with the Templates on the Cricut DS
Open the Cricut Design Space program and let’s insert the bow templates. Remember that you can use my free templates. Press upload, then upload image. Open the folder where you have the templates saved, select it and press open. You will now have the template in the Cricut Design Space gallery. Select it and press add to canvas.

You already have the templates on the Cricut DS canvas. Select the group of templates and click ungroup. Decide which template or templates you want to cut and delete the others. Just leave the template or templates you are going to cut at that time. I’m going to cut out the butterfly template.

Select it and change the size according to your needs. I will cut it to 8″ by 4″ to get a 5″ x 4″ bow. Once you have resized it, press make it.

The program separated the layers by colors to make the cuts separately. Then we are going to select the materials that we are going to cut. In this case, synthetic leather or faux leather. Press on search all materials, type faux leather, and select faux leather (paper thin). You don’t need to replace the blade. You can use the fine point blade (The one that comes with the machine).

Place the faux leather with the design side adhered to the cutting mat. White side up and feed it into the machine. Cricut recommends placing all the roller clamps to the right of the machine. I have placed two on each side because the ones on the left are stuck. Although I had no problem, I recommend following Cricut instructions to put them all to the right.

Assembling the Faux Leather Bows
