Design
For the design I will use the free platform Canva. You could make your own card or use any of the templates Canva offers. They have a gallery with tons of free designs that you could use. If you pay for the membership, you would have access to all the images, templates, forms and more.

You could print one card on one page or you could also print two as in the photo below.

To print two cards on one page, remember to select letter size before starting to design. This way you can easily accommodate two 5″ by 7″ cards. If you wish, you can watch my video tutorial with the step-by-step process on my Youtube channel.

Printing.
To print the cards, we will need two printers. Why two printers? A color inkjet to print the color design and a laser printer to print the design on which we are going to apply the foil. The reactive foil only adheres to laser printing.
Before printing, we must duplicate the page with the design.

On the first page you are going to eliminate the black text and leave the design in color. We are going to print this on the color inkjet printer.

On the second page you are going to eliminate the color design and leave only the text and design in black that will be printed on the laser printer and that is where the foil will go.

Once it is ready to be printed, you are going to press where it says share, download, then select PDF printing and press download. The download will appear in the lower left corner of your computer.

Open the download, select the first page and press print.

Select your color printer, press preferences and photo printing. In media type select matte photographic paper, in quality select high and in paper size select letter size or the size in which you are printing. Press ok and print.

Once you have printed the color design, place that same print on the laser printer. Go to the computer screen and select the design in black, press print. Select the laser printer and select preferences or more options. In print quality always select high quality and in paper select printable cardstock paper.

I am using a DELL B1160w printer but you could use any other affordable printer such as this Hp Laserjet or any other model of laser printer that best suits your needs.

How to Apply Reactive Foil.
Cut the cards using a guillotine.

Place a piece of Reactive Foil on top of the design and place the two layers in the middle of a printing paper folded in half. Heat the laminator for approximately 2 minutes and adjust it depending on the thickness of your material. I selected the 5mm setting.

Time to foil the card through the laminator. This is a QFUN laminator from Amazon and it has worked perfectly for me to do this reactive foil transfer process.

Final Result!
Remove the foil and this will be the result. Beautiful card with gold foil details. You can use any color of reactive foil to make your cards. These cards are unique with an elegant touch and you can make them for invitations, thank you notes, announcements, etc. You could even create business cards or even boxes with foil details.
