To sublimate correctly, we need to create templates with the exact measurements of our mugs and tumblers. In this tutorial, I will use Inkscape, a free graphic design program.

  1. Open Inkscape and adjust the worksheet:
    • And a File > Document Ownership.
    • Select letter size and guidance horizontal.
  2. Create the template:
  • Use the tool rectangle.
  • Adjust the measurements based on the size of your tumbler or mug.
  • Example for a 20 oz in tumbler: 9.3 x 7.9 inches.

These are the measurements to create templates for cups and tumblers of different sizes.

3. Import designs and customize:

  • And a File > Import and select your design.
  • Adjust the background size and use the option Set Clip to trim.
  • Add text and other decorative elements.
  1. Arrange the design on Inkscape’s white canvas.
  2. And a File > Print and select your sublimation printer.
  3. Adjust the parameters:
    • High quality
    • Mirror mode activated
    • Paper Type: Premium Presentation  Paper Matte

4. Print on sublimation paper. To print, I use my printer EPSON EcoTank ET15000 with Sublimation Ink from the Hiipoo brand

5. Let it dry for a few minutes before wrapping the tumblers or cups.

  1. Adjust the design by securing it with thermal tape.
  2. Use the porta tumblers to hold the cup.

  1. Set the temperature and time:
  • 20 and 30 oz Tumblers: 356°F for 60 seconds, rotating if necessary.
  • Ceramic mugs: 356°F for 280 seconds.

2. Place the mug or tumbler in the press and press the start button.

3. Use heat resistant gloves to remove sublimated products.

4. Dejar enfriar antes de remover la envoltura.

4. Let cool before removing the wrapper.

After following all the steps, the sublimated ones turned out spectacular. The colors are vibrant, the designs transferred evenly and without visible lines. Each mug and tumbler looks incredibly professional and ready to use or sell!
