Hello, creative friends, Today I want to share with you something that makes me very excited: how do I personalize paper bags with DTF. Not only because it is an incredibly fun technique, but because it is a way to give a personal touch to the things I make, whether to give as gifts in Valentine’s Day or for me business packaging. If you’ve been following me for a while, you know how important it is for me to make every detail in my projects something unique, something that makes it special. So, let’s get started!

Why I Love Using DTF to Customize Paper Bags?
The reason I chose the DTF (Direct to Film) technique is because it allows me to create vibrant, professional designs without having to worry about complications. The paper bags They are super versatile, and the best of all is that DTF allows you to customize bags of any color. This is because the process not only prints the design in vibrant colors, but also includes a layer of white ink on the back of the design. This white layer acts as a base, allowing colors to appear bright and crisp, regardless of the color of the bag.
What I love about this technique is that if you need to modify or customize a design, you can easily do so. I use Inkscape, a free graphic design program, to make any adjustments I want to my files. After that, I enter them into the program Prorip de Procolored, which is the software I use to print the designs. The process is very intuitive and gives me a lot of flexibility.
Materials I Use to Personalize My Paper Bags with DTF
If you are thinking of trying this project, here is what I use:

- Procolores K8/K13 DTF Printer: The Procolored DTF printer is one of my favorites. Currently, both printers are available on Kickstarter, where you can take advantage of an exclusive discount by reserving them. Procolores K8/K13 DTF Printer
Kickstarter Procolores DTF Printer - Tinta DTF Procolored: To ensure my designs come out with vibrant, long-lasting colors, I use Procolored DTF ink.
Tinta DTF Procolored 250ml - Film DTF: This film is essential to the process, as it is the medium on which the design is printed before transferring it to the paper bag.
Procolored DTF Film 8.2 inches x 328 feet - DTF Powder: DTF powder ensures that the design adheres properly to the bag and looks perfect after pressing.
Polvo DTF Procolored - Heat Press: Although you can use the heat press that you like best, in my case I am using two options that have worked very well for me:
- Designs: You can get the designs from any website like Creactivate Factory, which has a huge variety of images and resources. Personally, I love looking there for my projects. Some of the designs I used for my Valentine’s Day bags are:
My Personal Process to Customize Paper Bags
Step 1: Create or Prepare the Design
When I start a customization project, I like to create the designs in my style. For Valentine’s Day, I really enjoy designing messages of love, hearts and flowers. I usually use the free graphic design program Inkscape, since they allow me to be creative and explore my ideas. If you would like to learn how to use this program, I invite you to watch my tutorial videos here on my YouTube channel.
If I don’t have much time to create my own designs, I choose to visit Creative Factory. This platform offers a wide variety of beautiful designs for all occasions. You can download free images, purchase individual designs, or even pay for a membership, which I find to be the best option if you plan to download images daily or frequently.
For Valentine’s Day designs, visit Creative Factory and I have used some of their beautiful designs, like the Valentine’s cow or the coffee terms. Here are some links in case you are also inspired:

The most fun part of this process is choosing the design that best fits the occasion. If I want to make any modifications, I use Inkscape. This free program allows me to adjust the size, add text, modify colors or any other details before I send it to print.
Step 2: Print the Design
Once I have my design ready, I upload it to Procolored’s Prorip program. There I modify the size, and print it on the DTF transfer paper using the printer Procolors K8 the K13, depending on the size you need.
The Procolored K-series printer comes in two versions: the K8, which prints up to 8 inches wide, and the K13, which prints up to 13 inches wide. You can choose the one that best suits your needs.
Step 3: Apply DTF Powder
After having printed the design, I proceed to apply the DTF powder. For this, I use a cookie sheet. I place the print on the tray and apply the DTF powder on top, covering the entire design evenly. Then, I gently shake the print to remove excess dust.
Step 4: Curate the Design
Once we have applied the powder, the next step is to cure the design. To do this, we use a special oven for DTF and bake it at 120 degrees Celsius for 180 seconds, allowing the powder to melt and adhere to the design. Once the time has passed, we let the design cool completely; You will now be ready to transfer it to the paper bags.
Step 5: Apply the Transfer
After the design has cooled, I carefully align the print on the paper bag. I place a sheet of white packing paper or a sheet of Teflon on top to protect the design during transfer. Then, I use a heat press to press the design onto the bag.
Depending on the size of the design, you can use any heat press you have. In my case, I have used both my 12 x 10 inch manual press Vevor like my brand automatic press HTVRONT.
This is the time where I really enjoy the process as I can see the design come to life and adhere perfectly to the bag. It’s so satisfying to look at the end result and see how all the effort is worth it.
Step 6: Enjoy!
Finally, I let the bag cool for a while to remove the transparent film and it is ready to use. The end result always surprises me, and it is very satisfying to see that I now have a completely unique and personal product.

No solo porque sea una técnica increíblemente divertida, sino porque es una forma de darle un toque personal a las cosas que hago, ya sea para regalar en San Valentín o para mis empaques de negocio. ¿Por Qué Me Encanta Usar DTF para Personalizar Bolsas de Papel?
La razón por la que elegí la técnica DTF (Direct to Film) es porque me permite crear diseños vibrantes y profesionales sin tener que preocuparme por complicaciones. Las bolsas de papel son súper versátiles, y lo mejor de todo es que DTF permite personalizar bolsas de cualquier color. Esto es porque el proceso no solo imprime el diseño en colores vibrantes, sino que también incluye una capa de tinta blanca en la parte posterior del diseño. Esta capa blanca actúa como base, permitiendo que los colores se vean brillantes y nítidos, sin importar el color de la bolsa.
Lo que me encanta de esta técnica es que, si necesitas modificar o personalizar un diseño, puedes hacerlo fácilmente. Yo utilizo Inkscape, un programa gratuito de diseño gráfico, para hacer cualquier ajuste que quiera en mis archivos. Después de eso, los ingreso al programa Prorip de Procolored, que es el software que uso para imprimir los diseños. El proceso es muy intuitivo y me da mucha flexibilidad.
Materiales que Uso para Personalizar Mis Bolsas de Papel con DTF
Si estás pensando en probar este proyecto, aquí te dejo lo que yo utilizo:
- Bolsas de papel: Me gusta elegir bolsas que sean de un tamaño cómodo, pero lo más importante es que sean resistentes, porque quiero que mis diseños duren. Bolsas de Papel Varios Colores en Amazon
- Impresora DTF Procolores K8 / K13: La impresora DTF de Procolored es una de mis favoritas. Viene en dos versiones: la K8, que imprime hasta 8 pulgadas de ancho, y la K13, que imprime hasta 13 pulgadas de ancho. Puedes elegir la que más se ajuste a tus necesidades.

Kickstarter Procolores Impresora DTF - Tinta DTF Procolored: Para asegurar que mis diseños salgan con colores vibrantes y duraderos, utilizo la tinta DTF de Procolored.
Tinta DTF Procolored 250ml - Film DTF: Este film es fundamental para el proceso, ya que es el medio en el que se imprime el diseño antes de transferirlo a la bolsa de papel.
Film DTF Procolored 8.2 pulgadas x 328 pies - Polvo DTF: El polvo DTF asegura que el diseño se adhiera correctamente a la bolsa y quede perfecto después del prensado.

Mi Proceso Personal para Personalizar Bolsas de Papel
Paso 1: Crear o Preparar el Diseño
Cuando empiezo un proyecto de personalización, me gusta crear los diseños a mi estilo. Para San Valentín, disfruto mucho diseñando mensajes de amor, corazones y flores. Usualmente utilizo el programa de diseño grafico gratuito Inkscape, ya que me permiten ser creativa y explorar mis ideas. Si no tengo mucho tiempo para crear mis propios diseños, opto por visitar Creative Fabrica. Esta plataforma ofrece una gran variedad de diseños hermosos para toda ocasión. Puedes descargar imágenes gratuitas, comprar diseños individuales o incluso pagar una membresía, que considero la mejor opción si planeas descargar imágenes a diario o con frecuencia.

La parte más divertida de este proceso es elegir el diseño que mejor encaje con la ocasión. Si quiero hacer alguna modificación, uso Inkscape. Este programa gratuito me permite ajustar el tamaño, agregar texto, modificar los colores o cualquier otro detalle antes de que lo envíe a imprimir.
Paso 2: Imprimir el Diseño
Una vez que tengo mi diseño listo, lo cargo al programa Prorip de Procolored. Ya ahi le modifico el tamaño, y lo imprimo en el papel transfer DTF usando la impresora Procolores K8 o K13, según el tamaño que necesite.
La impresora Procolored de la serie K viene en dos versiones: la K8, que imprime hasta 8 pulgadas de ancho, y la K13, que imprime hasta 13 pulgadas de ancho. Puedes elegir la que más se ajuste a tus necesidades.
Paso 3: Aplicar el Polvo DTF
Después de haber impreso el diseño, paso a aplicar el polvo DTF. Para esto, utilizo una bandeja para hornear galletas. Coloco la impresión sobre la bandeja y aplico el polvo DTF encima, cubriendo todo el diseño de manera uniforme. Luego, sacudo suavemente la impresión para eliminar el exceso de polvo.
Paso 4: Curar el Diseño
Una vez que hemos aplicado el polvo, el siguiente paso es curar el diseño. Para ello, utilizamos un horno especial para DTF y lo horneamos a 120 grados Celsius durante 180 segundos, lo que permite que el polvo se derrita y se adhiera al diseño. Una vez transcurrido el tiempo, dejamos que el diseño se enfríe completamente; ahora estará listo para transferirlo a las bolsas de papel.
Paso 5: Aplicar el Transfer
Después de que el diseño se haya enfriado, alineo cuidadosamente la impresión en la bolsa de papel. Coloco encima una hoja de papel de empaque blanco o una hoja de teflón para proteger el diseño durante la transferencia. Luego, utilizo una prensa de calor para prensar el diseño sobre la bolsa.
Dependiendo del tamaño del diseño, puedes usar cualquier prensa de calor que tengas. En mi caso, he utilizado tanto mi prensa manual de 12 x 10 pulgadas de Vevor como mi prensa automática de la marca HTVRONT.
Este es el momento en el que realmente disfruto del proceso, ya que puedo ver cómo el diseño cobra vida y se adhiere perfectamente a la bolsa. Es tan satisfactorio observar el resultado final y ver cómo todo el esfuerzo vale la pena.
Paso 6: ¡A Disfrutar!
Finalmente, dejo enfriar la bolsa un rato para remover la pelicula transparente y ya está lista para usar. El resultado final siempre me sorprende, y es muy satisfactorio ver que ahora tengo un producto completamente único y personal.
