Step by Step Process
- Design and Printing
- I used the program Inkscape to design custom templates but you can use any graphic design program.
- I adjusted the measurements to 8.5 x 4.92 inches to ensure perfect sublimation.
- I printed the designs in mirror mode using my Epson EcoTank ET15000 with sublimation ink and sublimation paper.

2. Preparation of the Tumblers
- I cut out the designs and adhered them firmly to the tumblers using heat proof adhesive tape and a support for wrapping tumblers.

3. Sublimation with the Tumbler Press
- I adjusted the press to 356°F for 50 seconds.
- Since these were full wraps, I rotated the tumblers and repeated the process for another 50 seconds. I pressed two at the same time. One on each side.
- I let it cool before removing the wrapper.

4. Sublimation with the Sublimation Oven
- I wrapped them with the design, then I used shrink wrap and one heat gun to set the design.
- Baked the tumblers at 360°F for 6 minutes.
- I let it cool and removed the shrink wrap.

The two tumblers on the left were pressed with the tumbler heat press and the three on the right were baked with the sublimation oven.

Difference between Sublimation with Tumbler Press and Sublimation Oven
Sublimation of tumblers can be done in two main ways: with a tumbler heat press or with a sublimation oven. Below, I explain the key differences between both methods:
- Press for Tumblers:
- Fast and efficient method, ideal for sublimating one unit at a time.
- Allows precise control of pressure and temperature.
- It is easier to handle and requires less preparation.
- Perfect for those who produce in small quantities.
- Sublimation Oven:
- It allows several tumblers to be sublimated at the same time, optimizing production.
- Requires the use of shrink wrap and a heat gun to set the design.
- It takes longer than the press, but is ideal for batch productions.
- Provides even heat distribution, ensuring even sublimation.
Final Results on How to Sublimate Tumblers with Oven and Press
The result was incredible. The colors turned out vibrant and the designs transferred perfectly onto each tumbler. Children will enjoy their personalized thermoses with colorful designs.

If you are looking for a creative gift idea for any occasion, sublimation of children’s tumblers is an excellent option. With this method you can personalize each thermos with names, characters, and vibrant colors, creating a unique and special gift.
