Video tutorial in my Youtube channel.

First, we are going to prepare the wood. You could use wooden fence boards whether they are new or used, you could recycle pallet boards, old reclaimed wood etc. You can use boards in one piece or you could also join several boards to form the poster of the size you want.

If you wish, you could leave the board bare or you could paint it the color of your choice using chalk paint or another paint. Preferably water-based paint

Before painting the text, you can decorate adding a unique and personal touch using materials such as fabric, jute fabric, bow, jute string, ribbon, flowers, leaves, etc. You can do it after the text if you want. I decorate before to have adequate space for text.

Then we will prepare the design in the Cricut Design Space program.

I invite you to watch my video tutorial on my youtube channel so you can see how I prepare the design to cut the stencil that we are going to use to paint the text. There you can see the process of how to work with the stencil to be cut on any Cricut machine. Explore Air 1, 2, 3 and Maker and Maker 3.

Let’s cut the design: Use the setting according to the material to be cut. I use permanent vinyl so I selected Vinyl. If you are going to use Vinyl Stencil select that one.

Let’s weed the stencil and place a layer of transfer tape on top and remove the paper from the back.

Transfer the stencil to the wood. Remove the transfer tape and use it to transfer the rest of the letters. When you’re done, paint the letters using acrylic or chalk paint.

Let it dry a little but not completely. If you let it dry, you risk that the edges of the letters will come off when you take off the stencil.

Remove the stencils.

Voila!!!

I love how it turned out!.

I made this welcome sign with autumn motifs but I think I can reuse it several times by changing the decoration according to the occasion.

I hope you have enjoyed this tutorial and that it has been very helpful for you.
